My story

Hi, I'm Sophie! 

I'm the owner of Absolute Tea. 

I am a full time mumma to our beautiful daughters, Lillie and Ivy, I am a qualified high school teacher, a Lions member of 14+ years and a tea lover.

I'm so blessed to have this opportunity to grow my knowledge, to grow this little business of mine and to continue to develop a brand that you love.  

 

Absolute Tea's Story 

Absolute Tea's journey began as a dream in Dianne Spence's mind. She has spent many years, and continues to spend her time infusing the history, legends, culture, customs, ceremonies, characteristics and flavours of tea into her memory and sharing that knowledge with others. 

Dianne's path crossed with mine in 2011, which is where my journey with Absolute Tea began, when I applied for a job to work in the soon-to-open Flinders Street tearoom. A little piece of luxury in the middle of Townsville, North Queensland. Even though the tearoom was my workplace it soon became one of my favourite hideaways from everyday life. For many reasons the tearoom is now closed however, our online store is always open. 

Encouraged by constant requests from our customers whose tea journeys crossed ours at the tearoom, we created this online store. We hope that you will continue to enjoy browsing, tasting and immersing yourself in our quality loose leaf blends which will speak for themselves at your very first sip. 

Di has decided to continue to pursue her love for tea along other avenues. And while we are still the Absolute Tea you have always known, I've created a brand unique to my journey. 

In early 2020, I decided I wanted to really make Absolute Tea my own and we re-branded with our new logo, new website and new packaging.
